Last Friday, the Inspire Marine team got together for our 2025 Christmas party to celebrate a great year of fun and friendship. Nick, Fiona and Andy were joined by our marketing manager and Andy’s wife Alison, and it was only fitting that long-time Inspire Marine client Steve also joined us for the festivities.
We kicked things off at X-Golf Mornington, where the golf simulator provided plenty of laughs and revealed a surprising amount of talent. Andy proved once again that his skills extend well beyond maintaining yachts, taking out first place with an impressive performance on the virtual fairways. Steve revealed himself as something of a dark horse with the clubs, while Fiona and Alison played a very respectable round, especially considering Fiona had never even hit a golf ball before. The biggest surprise of the day however was just how bad Nick is at golf, confirming he really shouldn’t give up his day job anytime soon!
From the golf, we headed down to Martha Cove and onboard Perception, the Sydney 32 sailing yacht Nick and Fiona co-own with client and friend Drew. It was a perfect evening for the Safety Beach Sailing Club Friday night twilight series, giving us a great opportunity to put our teamwork to the test out on the water.
Conditions were gustier than expected, but the crew put in a strong effort, hurling Perception around the course with great enthusiasm. Alison helmed the start and first downwind leg, while Fiona heroically handled the hard work upwind. Meanwhile the boys did their best to keep the boat close-hauled and moving fast in challenging conditions, not even stopping to sip a beer until we crossed the finish line.
By the end of the day, everyone came away smiling, with great memories made and only Nick’s pride slightly bruised. It was a fitting way to wrap up another big year at Inspire Marine, celebrating the people, partnerships and shared love of boating that makes everything we do so rewarding.
